Editorial Code of Ethics

Natugreens publishes botanical profiles in twelve languages about plants that many people look up before making decisions about their own health. That responsibility shapes how we research, write, correct, and present every piece of content, and the principles below describe the commitments we make to our readers.

Editorial Independence

No supplier, manufacturer, distributor, or industry representative has any influence over what we publish. The choice of plants, the selection of sources, and the writing of the profiles follow only the criteria described in the Editorial Methodology, based on what the available literature allows us to state. We do not accept payment, samples, or any other consideration in exchange for a mention, prominent placement, or a favorable assessment, and the site does not publish paid, sponsored, or advertorial content of any kind.

Accuracy and Corrections

We work to make sure that scientific names, botanical families, plant parts used, and safety information are correct and up to date. Even so, errors can happen, whether in a taxonomic classification that has since been revised, a misread reference, or an incomplete warning. When a factual, taxonomic, or safety error is identified, through internal review or a reader’s report, the content is corrected as soon as possible, and safety-related corrections take priority over any other editorial task. How this process works is described in detail on our Editorial Policy page.

Copyright and Image Rights

The images that accompany the profiles are either our own or from third parties, used in accordance with the corresponding license and always with due credit to the author. We respect the work of the photographers, illustrators, and institutions that make their collections available, and we take any question about the use of an image seriously. If you hold the rights to an image published here and believe it has been used improperly, or would simply prefer that it be taken down, get in touch through the channel listed on our Contact page, giving the page address and the image in question. Each request is reviewed carefully and, when it is warranted, the image is removed without any red tape.

Respect for Traditional Knowledge

Much of what is known about medicinal plants comes from generations of observation and practice in Indigenous, folk, rural, and traditional communities in different parts of the world. We recognize that this knowledge originates with specific peoples and cultures and, whenever the source allows, we try to indicate where a given use comes from. At the same time, ethnobotanical records and traditional use are presented for what they are: valuable testimony to the relationship between people and plants, which is not equivalent to the clinical evidence obtained in controlled studies. That is why the profiles clearly distinguish between folk use, what has been observed in the laboratory, and what has already been evaluated in humans.

Digital Tools

We use digital tools, including artificial intelligence, to support the writing and translation of our content, following the stages and criteria described in the Editorial Methodology. Responsibility for what is published rests entirely with Natugreens.

Conflicts of Interest

There is currently no commercial conflict of interest to declare. Natugreens does not sell products, does not run a store, does not take part in affiliate programs, and does not publish sponsored content, so no plant, brand, or product is mentioned here in exchange for payment. The Google AdSense ads that may appear on the site are chosen automatically by Google and have nothing to do with the choice of plants or with what the profiles state. If this situation changes in the future, this policy will be updated and the change will be clearly declared on this page.
